![]() Barnard was the first college in New York, and one of the first in the nation, where women could receive the same rigorous and challenging education that was available to men. You can find AOIIs all around Oxford, being top scholars in the classroom, players on Miami’s sports teams, dancers in several clubs, skaters out on the rink, and leaders in various organizations found on campus. The first chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi’s history began in 1897 at Barnard College in New York City. Receiving the highest awards in AOII’s Standards of Excellence and Campus Involvement, we pride ourselves on becoming the best we can be, both as individuals and as a chapter. Both of these events help us raise money and awareness to aid the American Juvenile Arthritis Organization in their research efforts for a cure. In the spring, we play ball at our biggest philanthropy event of the year, Strike Out Arthritis, where we pair with the Miami Baseball team, as well as the Cincinnati Reds. In the fall, AOII takes the stage in Rock On Omicron, an acapella concert featuring the various acapella groups on campus. Alpha Omicron Pi is an international womens fraternity promoting friendship for a lifetime, inspiring academic excellence and lifelong learning, and developing. Alpha Omicron Pi (, AOII, Alpha O) is an international women's fraternity founded on January 2, 1897, at Barnard College on the campus of Columbia University in New York City. Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority keeps nearly 20,000 gallons of stormwater out of the combined sewer system every year, provides an educational opportunity for. We have continued to excel, and grow in our philanthropic efforts with our three main events every year. Being a sister in Alpha Omicron Pi has been one of the most incredible. The women of the Beta Gamma Chapter are passionately involved in campus life through: inter mural sports, clubs, student research and a multitude of other organizations.
